Still the n64-xbmc or libretro-xbmc should be used to start ROMS as it starts the background service that maps the ESC key to the controller, as well as fixing some vsync issue with N64 emulators. That script is there to autoconfigure screen resolution and running the correct binary for the current system (there are different ODROID models and I have different binaries optimized for the different boards).
